DAY 1: CUSCO – MIRADOR LODGE
We leave from Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains, to get to the typical and folkloric town of Paucartambo. Here we will have a short walk around town before carrying on to Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at San Pedro we will walk for around 1 hour to observe the National bird of Peru, the cock of the rock, and many different kinds of monkeys, plants and flowers. finally we will arrive to Pilcopata where we will spend the night in the Mirador Lodge.
DAY 2: HARPIA LODGE MACHUWASI LAKE
After breakfast we will walk in the jungle to see parrots , small monkey and we will visit the coca plantation after we will take the boat towards our next lodge Harpia, appreciating the flora and fauna and the different kinds of mammals and birds, e.g. red howler monkey, collared peccary, white lipped peccary, black spider monkey, egrets, heron, cormorant ,medicinal trees, giant tress, etc. After lunch you d to you will have time to swim in the river. In the afternoon and evening we will walk in the jungle and visit a machuwasi lodge lake and we will use a balsa raft, giving us the chance to see many different types of wildlife, and the beautiful sun set. After dark we will have the opportunity to catch Caimans. For dinner we will make a fire and have some drinks . We will sleep in harpia Lodge.
DAY 3: HARPIA LODGE – CUSCO
We will get up early to visit the parrots clay lick and after breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat where our private bus will waiting for us to take us back to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.
DAY 4:
Early in the morning we go to the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. So we will see a great show of noisy parrots and macaws. which come to the lick to find minerals and salts with digestive properties in the clay wall, macaws and parrots like the dark blue head, chirricles, Maracan, blue and yellow macaw, red and green macaw and the scarlet macaw. In our way back to our lodge We may see alligators, turtles and capybaras, jaguar , tapir along the Tambopata River, lunch at the lodge and rest.
In the afternoon we fish for piranhas and other species of fish in the Tambopata River
Night walk, where you can see variety of insects (tarantulas, toads and frogs) dinner and rest.
DAY 5:
Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport or bus station.
